Diversified agricultural products

As part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Phu Yen district, Son La province (October 18, 1952 - October 18, 2022), on October 18, Phu Yen district organized the Cultural and Sports Festival of Ethnic Groups and introduced Phu Yen district's agricultural products in 2022.

At the festival, there were 2 contents: Cultural camp competition and ethnic sports. In the cultural camp competition, there were 27 camps from communes and towns participating. Each commune and town introduced a cultural camp typical of the locality and ethnic groups in Phu Yen district, including: Displaying cultural products, brocade, traditional products, agricultural products that must be diverse and rich, unique to the locality and presenting and introducing the cultural camp.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ha, Chairman of Gia Phu Commune People's Committee, Phu Yen District, Son La Province shared: 70% of the commune's population are farmers, so the commune is focusing on promoting the development of local agricultural products, such as raising large herds of livestock and poultry, developing fruit trees on sloping land such as oranges, grapefruits, mangoes, etc. Coming to the Phu Yen District Agricultural Products Festival, Gia Phu Commune, we bring local products, such as garlic, green grapefruits, etc. We hope to take this opportunity to promote local agricultural products to consumers.

In recent years, Phu Yen district has promoted the development of typical agricultural products, thereby contributing to increasing farmers' income.

Mr. Ha Van Tuyen, Chieng Sinh Ward, Son La City (Son La) shared: After a tour of the stalls, I was quite impressed. There were all kinds of agricultural products here, from bananas, taro to fruits such as oranges and tangerines. I was especially impressed with the products made from stream fish, which were very delicious and special. In general, in my opinion, the products here were fresh, delicious, and guaranteed to be clean and safe.

In the national sports competition at the district stadium, the following events took place: Crossbow shooting, shuttlecock throwing, tug of war, stick pushing, women's volleyball, and men's volleyball. There were 27 teams and athletes participating. The competitions were exciting, attractive and thrilling, attracting a large number of people to watch and cheer.

Phu Yen aims to produce clean and safe agricultural products

Speaking to reporters, Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Ha, Vice Chairman of Phu Yen District People's Committee, Son La Province: Towards the 70th anniversary of Phu Yen district's liberation, the district has organized many events to celebrate. Including organizing a cultural and sports festival for ethnic groups, combined with introducing agricultural products of Phu Yen district. After 2 years of being affected by the pandemic, on this occasion, the district wants to promote to friends near and far the culture and customs of the ethnic groups in Phu Yen district. Besides, we also want to introduce typical local agricultural products that we hope friends and tourists will know. Especially on this occasion, we also hope that communes and cooperatives in the area will focus on agricultural production in the direction of organic, safe, clean agricultural products, and building OCOP products.

"In recent years, to promote local economic development and increase farmers' income, Phu Anh district has promoted the dissemination and transfer of farming science and technology to farmers. Support people with production materials, seeds, fertilizers, agricultural supplies, etc. Up to now, agricultural production has developed in a sustainable direction, promoting linkages in production and product consumption; developing 342 hectares of organic rice, more than 2,500 hectares of fruit trees of all kinds. The socio-economic development, the material and spiritual life of the people have been improved, the appearance of urban and rural areas has developed remarkably, there are 9 communes meeting new rural standards, the district has always maintained a good economic growth rate for many years. In 2018, Phu Yen district was recognized as a district that has escaped poverty," said Ms. Ha.

The 2022 Phu Yen District Cultural and Sports Festival and Agricultural Products Festival are practical activities to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Phu Yen District Liberation Day. Through activities to promote and introduce images, potentials, strengths in developing culture, sports, tourism, cultural heritage values of ethnic groups, traditional cultural identities of Phu Yen District's ethnic groups, as well as typical agricultural products of the district to friends, consumers, and tourists inside and outside the province.
